I already have an image but when I download the driver it just downloads as a link. In your video it automatically seems to download as a tar.gz file, what do I need to make it download to that recognised format? Thanks in advance

I am dead confused LOL, can someone help pleaseeeeee!! I have just followed this video step by step to install the driver on my GamePi43 console, and everything went smoothly. When it rebooted the ERROR reads – you are in emergency mode, root account locked!! So it wont boot

I noticed towards the end of your video you put the sdcard back into the console??? Dont you need the sdcard in the console when you are installing the driver?? because that's what I did….. Thanks if anyone can help

When trying to drag driver's to pi memory card I get told there's not enough memory in boot. This has happened with 3 different cards is there a way round this that's not starting from scratch?

Does the waveshare image not work on windows or something? I’ve tried to follow your video step-by-step and there are no options to extract it as a 7zip file. It does say “7zip” in the default name so that might explain this; yet etcher still has an error when I try to select it as an image.

Did you have issue with the game inside the emulators being off center or extended into the "game console face" ? As it plays the game inside a digital mock up of the original console.

When I download the Waveshare Images, the file is too large like 12GB. Even google is having a problem scanning the file. Is there another way to download the images for Rasp B+ for smaller size like 500mb?

Before you put the top bezel in place, there is a diagram on the blue circuit board which seems to indicate that the left stick can be used for either a d-pad (< > ^ v) or for an x-axis y-axis analog stick , but I can't see how to setup or calibrate it as an Analog stick at all.

If this is a built in limitation, you can forget about N64, PS1, and PPSSPP games unless you use a separate external gamepad (which totally defeats the purpose of the device).

Even using an external controller many N64, PS1, and PSP games may still be off the table when you equip your game hat with a Pi3b due to power limitations and thermal throttling issues (since the crowded construction makes it difficult to provide good cooling).

I do have a really nicely performing old Pi2, which is a bit more power efficient while still doing a good job running games like the N64 version of Legend of Zelda, so that would have been a nice option if Waveshare had provided a way to properly handle the analog stick.

If all this thing can handle is mindless side-scroller beat-down combat games and platformers from the nineteen-eighties and nineties, then there are lots of options on Amazon that are better packaged for significantly less money.

Worked great until I accidentally pressed the fucking thumbstick button one time. I don't know what it was bound to, but it bricked my pi…well the bootloader in this case is the SD card, so I had to reinstall my fucking image, re-install the drivers….and just….never press the thumbstick button I guess? Idk but this thing sucks man.

when I go to enter the command to extract the Game-HAT.gz.tar file, I get asked to extract each individual file. I have to press Y, enter, and it asks for the next one, and the next one, and the next one. Any ideas what causes that?
